Sea, spitz and sun atmosphere on the magnificent Penthièvre beach in Saint-Pierre-Quiberon. Several kilometers of white sand are available for beautiful walks with your dog, with land yachts on the horizon.

Toëno beach in Trébeurden is one of the few that allows dogs in summer in Côtes-d’Armor. The sand isn't the finest in the world, but the view of the many islands in the bay is worth the trip!

The best dog-friendly beaches in the Southwest
Located a stone's throw from the Lac Marin, the Plage de l'Océan in Soustons in the Landes is a large white sand beach. This popular surf spot is great for enjoying the sea spray and taking a good breath of iodized air with your dog.

Come and pitch your parasol on the Plage des Goélands in Mimizan. Very busy in summer, this is not where your dog will play Robinson Crusoe, but the atmosphere is very cool!

Come feel the warm sand under your feet (and your Molosser's paws) and enjoy wild nature on the Plage du Vieux Phare de La Tremblade in Charente-Maritime. Perfect for a frisbee throwing session!

Plage du Grand Travers at La Grande-Motte in Hérault is dog-friendly at access point 60. Although it has a notorious reputation, it's one of the few that allows dogs in the area!

Plage Sud de Torreilles is a superb beach in the Pyrénées Orientales. Dogs on leashes are allowed, and that's pawsitively cool!

Plage du Racou in Argelès-sur-Mer, with its family atmosphere, is very pleasant for lounging in the sun (for you) and in the shade of a parasol (for your dog). It's one of the most beautiful beaches in the region.

We really love the large Lido beach in Canet-en-Roussillon, which has remained quite wild. Because water activities aren't just for bipeds, your favorite Bandit can take a dip in the water and cool off their paws!

Stroll with your beloved canine on the pebble beach of Tettola in the heart of the Gulf of Saint-Florent. Savor the view and immortalize your vacation by asking your beloved dog to strike a handsome pose for the photo!

Does Bravone beach in Linguizzetta make you dream? Us too! This little Corsican gem in the heart of nature is great for relaxing after a day of hiking with your dog, for example! Since it slopes gently, your dog can swim safely (but under supervision, of course!).

Alistro beach in San Giuliano offers a large stretch of sand with the maquis in the background, ideal for running like crazy after imaginary friends with your tongue out (we're talking about your dog, of course!).

4 tips for a day at the beach with your dog
Before playing Baywatch on the beach with your Molosser, discover our 4 tips for a top beach day!
1) Remember the parasol
Yes, shade is essential for your dog to avoid sunstroke, heatstroke, and feel comfortable! Also, try to go early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid the hottest hours.
2) Bring plenty of water
Leave a bowl of water (fresh, of course!) available for your dog so they can quench their thirst as they please. Sand, salt water, and heat make you thirsty, for crying out loud!
3) Keep an eye on your dog
In the water or on the sand, always keep your dog supervised. There are many temptations (the towel neighbor, the kids' ball next door...) and also dangers: ocean currents, jellyfish and sea urchin stings, cuts on rocks, etc.
4) Bring their accessories
Cooling mat to lower their body temperature, leash to quickly re-attach them, first aid kit for minor boo-boos, in short, bring everything your beloved pet needs for the beach.
And you, what's your dream beach for your sunny vacation with your dog?
